I write about my life and life itself seen through my eyes for who can write through the experiences of others if not their own?

Is There Happiness?

There is no complete state of happiness but drips of it that, if allowed, fill the bucket. If we understood that, maybe we would cease searching for the perfect relationship.

Happiness is measured in small doses. There is happiness in unusual moments that can’t be recreated. In waking up to see a sunrise and in having someone to wake up to watch it. In falling asleep in a balcony wrapped in a blanket to the sound of the waves.

There is happiness in sharing good news. In opening a simple gift. In drinking seltzer because one can’t drink. In dropping what we are doing to meet and to assist. In willingly giving up our days to watch a fever break and an illness heal.

There is happiness in loving someone and having them with you. In knowing they exist.

And when love is real, happiness exists in simply having loved you.

“Moments of true greatness occur to test the limits of your soul’ (M.Costick). Love is one of them.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
